This modern chalet on Powder Mountain is located in a natural park in Utah, on an easy-to-ski slope with picturesque views. The structure consists of two floors, having been designed by Jo Nagaska of Schemata Architects in collaboration with Lloyd Architects. The lower floor was built with steel frames and a highly insulated wooden structure above. The wooden exterior complements the natural landscape during the warmer months and brings a warm feeling when covered with snow.
This chalet has a privileged location for when guests want to take a break from skiing. The mud room is a very practical entrance for guests to get rid of ski clothes and equipment to keep warm. The master bedroom with a private bathroom, as well as the three guest rooms and the two bathrooms, are located on the same floor for bathing and changing clothes and before moving to the common space.
The upper floor is decorated with several windows that frame the view, which can be enjoyed while warming up by the fireplace.
The steel and wood structure of the house is exposed from the inside, with the wood balancing and adding heat to the industrial elements.
