Miguel Cardoso, a Portuguese architect, has dedicated his career to creating spaces that meet his clients needs. His architectural style combines modernity and traditional Portuguese elements. He was born on May 10, 1968 in Porto, Portugal. He graduated in Architecture from the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto (FAUP) in 1996 and worked for several Portuguese architects while studying.  Miguel Cardoso’s professional career includes working on a wide range of projects, from residences to commercial buildings and various complexes in Portugal, Spain and Angola, Algeria and Colombia.

Miguel has received several awards and recognition for his work and has been published in various magazines. Miguel Cardoso has his own studio and firm, Miguel Cardoso, Architect Lda., in Porto. In his projects, Miguel Cardoso seeks to emphasize the use of natural materials and the integration of buildings with their surroundings. He is concerned with sustainability, using ecological and energy-efficient construction techniques.

Vila Foz Project

The Vila Foz Hotel & Spa is a rehabilitation project of a century-old mansion and has been transformed into a luxury hotel by the signature of Miguel Cardoso. The Vila Foz hotel is located in Foz do Douro in Porto, Portugal. The Vila Foz project was an exciting challenge for Cardoso, as it was a mansion built at the beginning of the 20th century with classical architecture and some Art Nouveau elements that he wanted to preserve, but at the same time he needed to modernize the building. The interiors have been meticulously restored, combining classic and modern elements, resulting in an environment that evokes sophistication and comfort to provide guests with the best experience.

Vila Foz Hotel & Spa offers a variety of rooms and suites with stunning views of the sea or the hotel gardens. The hotel offers various activities such as wine tastings and guided tours of the city. The project has won several awards from the World Luxury Hotel Awards, including the Best Luxury Architecture Design Hotel in Southern Europe, the Best Luxury Heritage Restaurant in Southern Europe and the Best Spa Interior Design in Portugal.
