Big Sean’s home in Beverly Hills, with its own nightclub

Despite being raised in Detroit, Big Sean was born in Santa Monica. The hip-hop star took advantage of California’s relaxed aesthetics to inform virtually every aspect of his elegant Beverly Hills residence.

 The clean, simple interiors infuse much of the nearly 11,000 square foot home with a calm but confident character type – principles that guide the rap artist’s decade-long musical career.

The seven-bedroom Mediterranean mansion is loaded with understated beauty that belies a celebrity owner. Britney Wior, director of JSN Studio, which is the decoration, staging and design company that took care of the project, says the idea was to modernize the whole house and accentuate its beauty even more. The house took about six months to be built and a director adds that it was important to create something that corresponds to the owner’s style.

The two-story entrance, which creates an inviting atmosphere for the entire house, leads to living and entertainment spaces lined with white oak floors. The high ceilings mark much of the interior architecture, together with arched doors and large windows that allow natural light to enter the living spaces. The main floor interiors are compatible with the perfect open-plan type that stands out as formal living and dining rooms and, not to mention, an elegant living room with a Taj Mahal fireplace.

As for the kitchen, it has been completely remodeled with double islands of gray marble and custom cabinets. A 3 meter high window was added to allow natural light to enter the open area for cooking and eating. Wior mentions that, they wanted to open the space to allow not only cooking but also space, since the kitchen had a heavy atmosphere with very traditional sausages and dark cores. The kitchen also has exceptional storage and two refrigerators, one that is specifically for drinks.

The interiors go perfectly to a resort-style backyard equipped with a limestone pool, heated spa and fireplace, all surrounded by manicured hedges. A dining patio at the rear of the house is covered with arched openings, wooden beams and chandeliers that add an elegant theme to outdoor entertainment. Perhaps most importantly, the outdoor area is a place where Sean can mediate and reflect. The rapper says he likes to wake up and smell the flowers, particularly the wild roses.

Big Sean, whose real name is Sean Michael-Leonard Anderson, bought the house four years ago for $ 8.7 million from legendary Guns N ‘Roses guitarist Slash. Notably, the property featured a nightclub, bar and theater with more than 13 seats, which remain in place today

When the house belonged to ex-owner Slash it included multicolored rooms full of chandeliers in the shape of a pirate ship and fake crocodile skin wallpaper – which were replaced by clean, whitewashed living areas throughout the three-story plan. Upgrades to the house also included the addition of a professional-grade music studio with soundproof windows and fabric panels to mitigate the sound that escaped the rest of the house. A sloping roof in the room has also been lowered to help suppress the sound.

Sean says that his latest albums were produced at home, also comments that when he looks to the left he sees the building of his first apartment. This is possible due to the added windows, this is exciting for the rapper since it was a dream to move to Hills and now he has his dream home.
